City Council approves consent items including equipment purchases and staffing changes, introduces fire-code ordinances, and revises mayor/vice mayor voting procedures
At its October 21, 2025 regular meeting in the Council Chamber, the Santa Rosa City Council held a General Fund study session (information only), received and filed closed session items on City Manager employment and labor negotiators, approved the Consent Agenda (13.1–13.9, with 13.3 continued), authorized multiple purchases and professional service agreements, adopted classification and compensation changes, introduced ordinances to adopt the 2025 California Fire Code and 2025 Wildland‑Urban Interface Code (setting a Nov. 18 public hearing), and adopted a resolution revising the Council manual to change the voting procedure for electing Mayor and Vice Mayor. A settlement finalized in September (Stillwater Insurance v. City of Santa Rosa) in the amount of $88,000 was reported.
