Ann Arbor City Council adopts FY2026 budget with targeted housing, safety, and grant allocations
Council met May 19, 2025 in Larcom City Hall and approved the FY2026 budget and related millage rates (R-25-177) as amended. Key budget amendments allocated marijuana excise tax rebate funds to the Rising Hope for Housing program and eviction prevention, funded quick-build street safety work by reallocating major street maintenance dollars, and set other one-time appropriations. Council also approved a MDOT shared-streets grant for Fourth Avenue, accepted utility easements at 1400 S. Maple Road, approved a 0.9-acre annexation at 1155 Arlington Boulevard, confirmed multiple board/commission appointments, adopted FY2026 fee adjustments for several departments, and approved several resolutions directing funding for substance use disorder treatment, food access, and shelter diversion.
