Board of Public Works recommends demolition and utility projects, awards street and alley repair bids
At the April 9, 2026 Board of Public Works meeting, members approved minutes and payments; recommended a resolution to prepare plans/specs for demolition of 137-139 East Park Avenue and utility improvements on Luke Avenue, Walton Avenue and Born Place (plus Parade Memorial irrigation); recommended awarding the 2026 Alley Reconstruction bid to Milwaukee General Construction ($391,150.50) and the 2026 Asphalt Street Utility Repairs - City Wide bid to All-Ways Contractors, Inc. ($192,690.00); recommended 2026 street opening prices for Council consent; and recommended purchase of sewer castings from Ferguson Waterworks (lowest quote). Official bid closings were noted for Fire Station #5 HVAC (rebid) and W. Sunset Drive / Barstow St. bridge sealing and rehabilitation.
