Design Review and Preservation Board approves Lago Fresca 50‑unit apartment project (Dec 18, 2025)

Regular meeting held Dec. 18, 2025 at City Hall Council Chamber. Board present: Chair Melanie Jones‑Carter, Vice Chair Adam Sharron, Sher Ennis, Drew Fagent, Drew Weigl (who reported his resignation); Ingrid Anderson absent. Board approved minutes from Nov. 6, 2025; Feb. 6, 2025 (Design Review Board); and July 17, 2024 (Cultural Heritage Board). After a public hearing with multiple speakers opposing the project, the Board adopted Resolution DRPB‑RES‑2025‑003 approving Design Review for the Lago Fresca Apartments, a 50‑unit, four‑building, three‑story multifamily development at 2445 Summerfield Road and 4744 Hoen Avenue (four units designated very low‑income); project found CEQA exempt. Vote on the resolution: 4 yes, 1 no, 1 absent. Meeting adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
