The commission accepted minutes, approved the consent agenda, approved several Certificates of Appropriateness and a reclassification, approved revised findings for one application, and deferred multiple applications to the May 18, 2026 hearing for additional information or revised plans. One approval included a condition to simplify design and coordinate with NENA.

Planning and Zoning Commission — April 13, 2026: child-care permit approvals; Overland Townhomes proposal denied

The Boise City Planning and Zoning Commission met April 13, 2026. Commissioners Danley, Mohr, Schafer, Torres, Stallings, and Stefancic were present; Ceja and Doane were absent. The commission approved a modification to increase enrollment at an existing child care facility (CUP26-00005) on consent (unanimous) and approved a separate child care expansion (CUP25-00045) with a modification to Condition #7 (5–0; Commissioner Mohr recused). For the Overland Townhomes applications (CVA25-00042, CUP25-00050, SUB25-00060 at 3113 W Overland Rd) an initial motion to deny the CUP, approve the variance, and recommend approval of the preliminary plat failed; a subsequent motion to deny the variance and CUP and to recommend denial of the preliminary plat passed (5–1). The meeting was held at City Hall (Maryanne Jordan City Council Chambers) with in-person and virtual attendance options.

The Boise Historic Preservation Commission met Feb 23, 2026. The commission unanimously approved a Certificate of Appropriateness for a new addition and attached garage at 2026 N 16th St. Two items — a detached ADU at 502 N Avenue D and demolition/new construction at 1803 N 9th St — were unanimously deferred to the March 30, 2026 hearing.
