City Council approves zoning text amendments, rezoning, multiple appointments; discusses FY27 budget

At the April 28, 2026 regular meeting, Winchester City Council approved zoning ordinance changes including rules for short-term rentals in the B-1 district, adopted an amended definition for corner lot setbacks, rezoned 1328 Commerce Street to high-density residential with PUD overlay, approved minutes and a slate of board appointments/reappointments and removals, held first readings on elections and firearms ordinances, and discussed City FY27 budget items including the Schools' request and the meals tax rate. An executive session was held to interview a City Attorney candidate.
