Council advances building code update; approves shuttle fares, arts contract, live-entertainment ordinance direction, and multiple contracts
At its December 15, 2025 meeting the Visalia City Council received updates (Fleet Maintenance, federal lobbying, Arts Consortium), authorized a two‑year Arts Consortium contract, extended the Thorn Run federal lobbyist contract for a final year, directed staff to draft a hybrid Live Entertainment ordinance (no moratorium), approved operation and a $15 round‑trip Sequoia Gateway Shuttle fare ($5 discount for Visalia residents) for 2026, authorized applications for FAA and California grant funding for airport and hydrogen/bus fueling projects, approved first reading of the ordinance adopting the 2025 building codes, and approved the Consent Calendar including multiple procurement and capital items.
