Economic Development Subcommittee — Regular Meeting Minutes (Oct 13, 2025)

Meeting called to order at 9:01 AM; Chair Jeff Okrepkie and Council Member Victoria Fleming present (Committee Member Eddie Alvarez absent). Minutes from August 11, 2025 were approved. The committee received a presentation on the City’s Local Preference Policy and purchasing procedures and reviewed department reports including a draft Target Industries list for the 2026 Business Recruitment plan, Annual District Survey results, the Downtown Infill Housing Economic and Fiscal Impact Study close-out, Second Sundays close-out, a six-month Business Concierge Program progress report, and updates on Art & Culture initiatives. Staff also provided various updates (including United Soccer League, Asawa panels, fountain placement findings, permit process improvements, Entertainment Zone due diligence, and childcare partner conversations). A future agenda item was proposed regarding graffiti visible from the SMART train. Meeting adjourned at 10:42 AM; minutes approved on December 8, 2025.
