ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: Ana Gonzalez - CCAEJ - speaking on behalf the residents displaced due to the Vista View Apartments, expressed concerns raised over the Disaster RElief Guidelines. Lizeth Gudino - resident of Vista View apartments affected by the fire. She asked about the funds to be given to them and for City Council to help and to not forget about them. Claudia Olaya - resident of Vista View apartments affected by the fire, spoke about the promises given and none met. They have been shuffling from hotel to hotel and need a dignified home. She asked for help from City Council. Guillermina Delalba - resident of Vista View apartments affected by the fire, asked City Council for help to put pressure on the apartment owner to give them what they deserve. She inquired about a $15,000 fund. Claudia Cuevas - CCAEJ - expressed frustration their organization is the only group present 24/7. the representatives of the city to be there for the families who are asking for help. Dora Cortez - resident of Vista View apartments affected by the fire, asked City Council to help the families. Maykeline Moya - resident of Vista View apartments affected by the fire, expressed concern regarding the requirements to access the funds. they are thankful for the temporary help and hope to be in a permanent place by Christmas. Mayra Sid- resident of Vista View apartments affected by the fire, expressed her concern regarding the apartment they are offering. She asked for help to access the funds.
TAB 4 - Motion by Mayor Pro Tem Scott, second by Council Member Carrizales and carried by a 5-0 vote to approve TAB 4 with modifications to Resolution No. 8440, adding Section 2 " City Council hereby suspends the Utility User Tax for residential customers beginning January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026".
