Committee on Ethics and Government Oversight — May 19, 2026: Passed Rule 45 Report, Inspector General Appointment, and Fair Access to Democracy Ordinance

At its May 19, 2026 meeting, the Committee passed three reports to be submitted to City Council: approval of the April 2026 Rule 45 monthly report; direct introduction and approval of the appointment of David Glockner as Inspector General; and passage of an ordinance amending Municipal Code Title 2 to add Chapter 2‑200, The Reverend Jesse L. Jackson Sr. Fair Access to Democracy Ordinance, establishing a Working Group on Access to Democracy (sponsored by Mayor Johnson).
