Library Board approves minutes; reviews Blinkist subscription, fundraising, grants, and February usage statistics
The Southlake Library Board met March 25, 2026. The board approved the February 25, 2026 minutes (4-0). City Librarian Cynthia Pfledderer introduced the newly acquired Blinkist app (two-year contract for $2,900) and asked board members to download it and provide feedback. The board discussed heightened city budget scrutiny, donation timing restrictions, and sponsorship alternatives; the Library Foundation will pay program presenters directly this year to avoid donation-processing delays. The library applied for a TSLAC grant requesting $10,000 for Tonieboxes and is pursuing additional grants/sponsors for summer programming. February statistics: print circulation +7% month (year +2%), digital circulation and traffic mixed (various up/down metrics noted), programming generally up, and volunteer hours remain a challenge. Library Giving Days launched with $600 raised toward a $7,000 goal. Pfledderer will provide sponsorship level materials to the board.
