The Parks & Recreation Commission met in a hybrid session on October 20, 2025 (called to order at 7:05 PM) with Commissioners Caldwell, Chu, DeMarco, Forte, Gupta, and Souza present. The Commission approved the August 18, 2025 minutes, recommended the City Council adopt the Commission's proposed 2026 meeting calendar, recommended Council approve the revised schematic design for the new neighborhood park at 3905 Freedom Circle (with a condition for improved parking signage), and recommended Wanda Buck as the 2025 Honorary Holiday Tree Lighter. The Commission continued action on proposed definitions for aquatic facility use categories, priorities of use, and proposed municipal fee schedule amendments to the next meeting, directing staff to further refine categories. Staff reported ISC construction drawings expected November 6 and potential groundbreaking in February 2026, and noted recent hires of grounds maintenance workers and a new administrative staff aide. The meeting was adjourned to the next regular meeting on November 10, 2025 at 7:00 PM.
