El Gabilan Park Improvement Project

City Council approves park contract, speed-limit updates, personnel classification changes; receives fireworks enforcement plan and youth-violence presentation

At the April 7, 2026 City Council meeting in the Salinas Rotunda, the Council awarded a construction contract for El Gabilan Park improvements, adopted speed limits per the 2026 engineering and traffic survey, delegated appellate authority for Rent Stabilization Ordinance appeals, authorized an amendment increasing emergency clean-up contract funds for Soledad Street properties, and approved multiple classification and salary schedule changes. The Council received an informational report on the Salinas Fire and Police 2026 Fireworks Enforcement Plan and a presentation on the STRYVE youth violence prevention program; proclamations and Salinas Youth Council updates were also presented. A scheduled closed session was canceled.
