CDBG Committee creates Business Façade Program, allocates $100,000, and raises per-business grant to $50,000

At a special meeting on October 16, 2025 in the Weimer Room, the City of Orange Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Committee unanimously recommended amending the FY 2025-2026 Annual Action Plan to create a Community Development Business Façade Program. The Committee recommended allocating $100,000 to the program (‑$54,259 from FY 2025-2026 Community Development Business Assistance Program (Admin); $36,973.89 from FY 2022-2023 unspent entitlement funds; $8,767.11 from FY 2023-2024 unspent entitlement funds) and increasing the maximum grant award to $50,000 per eligible business (staff had proposed $25,000). A public hearing was opened and closed at 6:42 p.m. with no public comments. The motion carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.; next regular meeting is February 12, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
