Oakland Council approves budget, housing and tax measures

Oakland Council approved a slate of major actions, including a voter measure that could raise about $4 million to $13 million a year by changing the real property transfer tax, a 2026/27 housing and homelessness funding plan with up to $14,674,799.07 in HUD grants, and a $200 million short-term borrowing plan for the coming fiscal year.
