Oakland council approves midcycle budget adjustments

The City Council adopted the FY 2026–27 midcycle budget and approved resolutions allowing one‑time revenues and temporary waivers of several charter/measure funding set‑asides. The actions declare states of extreme fiscal necessity to suspend minimum staffing and program funding requirements, authorize the use of Affordable Housing Trust Fund dollars to balance the budget, and approve policy directives and program reallocations including funding shifts for senior programs and a grant to OUSD.
