New York City Council Committee on Health holds budget and oversight hearings; oversight filed
On March 19, 2026 at 9:30 AM the New York City Council Committee on Health (Chair: Lynn C. Schulman) met in Council Chambers, City Hall, jointly with the Committee on Mental Health and Substance Use and the Committee on Disabilities. The meeting conducted Budget and Oversight hearings (T2026-1365) on the Preliminary FY27 Budget, Preliminary Capital Plan (FY27–30) and the FY26 Preliminary Mayor’s Management Report with panels from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner; Department of Health and Mental Hygiene — Public Health and Mental Hygiene; and the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. Present: Schulman, Ariola, Epstein, Felder, Gennaro, Marte and Narcisse; additional Council members and the Public Advocate attended. The oversight was held and subsequently filed by the committee.
