Metropolitan Council (Nashville) meeting — December 16, 2025: appointments, bond authorization, homelessness and public-safety actions

The Metropolitan Council met December 16, 2025 at the Historic Metro Courthouse. The Council elected and confirmed multiple board and commission members (including Emma Boyd Elliott to the Contract & Compliance Board and Keri Adams to the Human Relations Commission); approved a large consent agenda covering grant acceptances, utility easement actions, park greenway easements, and appropriations; adopted an initial resolution authorizing up to $531,925,000 in general obligation bonds; approved homeless-services funding and a resolution urging protections for residents amid federal Continuum of Care changes; passed public-safety and emergency-communications reform language; approved zoning and renaming ordinances on third reading (including BL2025-1006 and BL2025-1108); approved an exemption for Lost and Found beer permits (RS2025-1686); and deferred several items (notably RS2025-1659 to Jan 20, 2026). The meeting included a public comment period and multiple committee referrals and late-filed resolutions.
