Metropolitan Council adopts major zoning code changes, passes accessory-dwelling and new residential districts, confirms appointments, and approves multiple grants and land-use actions
At its December 4, 2025 meeting the Metropolitan Council (Metropolitan Courthouse) confirmed several board/commission appointments, passed major zoning legislation including creation of new Residential Neighborhood (RN) and Residential Limited (RL) districts and amendments on accessory and detached dwelling units, approved numerous grant appropriations and land-use/easement actions on the consent agenda, and advanced multiple rezoning and specific-plan bills. Rule changes were considered (one failed, one deferred) and several transportation, water/sewer, and public-safety grant measures were adopted.
