City Forest Master Plan moved forward
The Parks & Recreation Commission advanced the City Forest Master Plan to the E-City Hall platform for additional public comment and then to City Council for adoption (motion passed 8-0). The Commission accepted the February 4, 2026 minutes (8-0) and adjourned (8-0). Staff reported on several project updates including vision work for the Grand Curves Corridor, initiation of the Barstow Woods Master Plan tied to a culvert repair, and recent City Forest plan revisions (including proposed tubing lanes and a Magic Carpet lift). Division reports covered spring flooding response, the Circle Area Community Garden to be managed by the American Chemical Society with produce donated to local food banks, Arbor Day plantings marking Midland’s 30th Tree City USA year funded by a DNR grant, and upcoming recreation programming including the Miracle League season and Plymouth Pool opening.
