Council approves budget and flood‑mitigation allocations, introduces utility rate changes, and orders liquor‑license revocation
At its April 13, 2026 regular meeting, Midland City Council approved minutes, proclaimed Arbor Day (April 24, 2026), adopted a budget amendment and purchase order change for audit services, established the 2026 Downtown Economic Revitalization Public Improvement Special Assessment District and directed preparation of a special assessment roll, recommended revocation of Pi’s Brothers, Inc. liquor license, introduced sewer and water ordinance amendments for first reading (second reading set for April 27, 2026), placed the proposed 2026–27 citywide budget on file for public review, and committed state flood mitigation funds to specified stormwater, culvert, pump station, and bridge projects. The Council also adopted a resolution opposing specified State of Michigan zoning preemption/housing bills. Several public hearings were held with no public comment.
