Planning Commission (Mar 16, 2026): Recommends zoning text amendments for temporary uses and signs; PCH residence hearing continued
The Malibu Planning Commission met in a hybrid session on March 16, 2026. The Commission unanimously adopted Planning Commission Resolution No. 26-13, finding proposed amendments to Title 17 (Zoning) related to Temporary Use Permits and Sign Permits exempt from CEQA and recommending City Council approval (Zoning Text Amendment No. 26-001). The Consent Calendar, including approval of the March 2, 2026 minutes, was approved by unanimous consensus. The Coastal Development Permit/Variance/Site Plan Review for a new single-family residence at 32832 Pacific Coast Highway (CDP No. 23-073 et al.) was continued to the May 18, 2026 Regular Planning Commission meeting. Public comment included concerns about impermeable surfaces and slope stability in Big Rock and comments on Commission conduct. The meeting recessed and resumed and adjourned at 8:39 p.m.
