America 250 Planning Committee approves prior minutes and 2026 schedule; reviews event calendar and marketing
Meeting held December 9, 2025 at Town Hall Annex. Present: Scott Johnson Jr., Douglas Kelley, Mathew Novosad; Patricia Riley excused; Peter Hary and Kathrine Kohrs absent. Mayor Fred B. Allyn III attended. Committee approved the September 9, 2025 minutes and the 2026 meeting schedule. Members reviewed a month-by-month America 250 events calendar through July 2026 (school sticker contest, History Day, cemetery tours, Veteran’s Day tribute, Yuletide events, Memorial Day parade float, Flag Day, July 4, 2026 celebration at Nathan Lester House, and related marketing). A commemorative bell ($1,900) was presented for consideration; Mayor to solicit donations for the July 4 celebration (funds available noted at $1,000). Meeting adjourned at 1:28 p.m.
