Council approves multiple consent items, rezonings and PUD amendment; rejects alcohol variance near school
League City Council met April 14, 2026 (all members present). Council approved the full consent agenda including police grant applications, Dickinson Bayou flood mitigation grant acceptance, equipment and construction contracts, and various professional services. Council approved a rezoning (Wyoming Avenue) on first reading, approved a Special Use Permit for Anchor Bay Gas Station on second reading, and approved a PUD amendment permitting 3-phase overhead power lines. Council approved participation in the Lone Star Property Tax Reform Council and updated Galveston County tax office fees. A requested variance to allow a convenience store less than 300 feet from a public school to serve alcohol failed. Meeting began at 6:00 p.m., entered executive session at 6:36 p.m., reconvened, and adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
