Kansas City Finance, Governance and Public Safety Committee — Meeting Minutes (Sept 16, 2025)
Committee met Sept. 16, 2025 at 10:30 AM in the 26th Floor Council Chamber (also via Zoom). Chair Andrea Bough, Vice Chair Quinton Lucas, and Councilmembers Crispin Rea, Darrell Curls and Wes Rogers were present. The committee approved multiple ordinances on consent and as committee substitutes (including opioid settlement acceptance, TIF progress determinations, a property tax levy amendment, procurement for fire trucks, a 30-year lease at the Downtown Airport, and funding/contract amendments for the Roy Blunt Luminary Park). Several items were held or deferred for later committee consideration (including the Global Music Strategy, multiple TIF progress items, a surface-parking ordinance, and a multifamily funding agreement). Additional business included a Citywide Business Plan mid-term review and possible closed session items.
