The Council met May 12, 2026 and approved a broad consent agenda, multiple quasi‑judicial rezonings, grant and appropriation ordinances, and amendments to grant and governance rules. Major outcomes included approval of several rezonings (LUZ items), authorization of petroleum cleanup and NPDES interlocal agreements, appropriations for Historic Stanton and apprenticeship programs, amendments to opioid settlement grant procedures, and introduction of measures to negotiate incentives for a Culinary Institute SE campus and to call a November 3, 2026 school millage referendum. Multiple board and personnel appointments were confirmed. An addendum item honoring Captain Edward W. Froehlich passed on emergency approval.
