Forney City Council approves utility transfers, subdivision amendments, contracts; re-tables data center zoning
At the April 7, 2026 Forney City Council regular meeting, council approved multiple consent items (including a concrete maintenance annual price agreement and sewer reimbursement), authorized a water service area transfer agreement with Talty Special Utility District, adopted amendments to the Subdivision Ordinance (Sections 2.4 and 2.8), and approved an Improvement/Security Agreement with Tractor Supply Co. The council removed a proposed Data Center zoning ordinance from the table then re-tabled it to April 21, 2026. The Capital Improvements Advisory Committee appointment was made, public safety at parks was discussed with no direction given, and an explanation for Council Member Cecil Chambers’ consecutive absences was accepted. Presentations included the Get Fired Up for Reading program, YMCA Forney (staff asked to review library options), the Law Enforcement Torch Run, and annual street maintenance.
