City Council meeting summary

Council approved the consent agenda and second reading of Ordinance 26-06-LC. Council extended the fireworks contract for one year and approved applying for the shorebird permit, asked staff to return with logistics and funding options for a $10,000 drone add-on, and voted to hire part-time sheriff’s deputies for weekend enforcement at Norriego Point. The council directed liquidated damages be imposed for delays on the utility undergrounding project while allowing the City Manager to negotiate mitigation, supported a letter on property tax reform, and directed the City Attorney to engage the state regarding recently acquired land adjacent to Norriego Point Park. The council also revised the public comments policy to allow comments on each agenda item.
