City Council meeting (April 23, 2024): Council repeals PAVE grant, approves procurement, project incentives, and multiple bond issuances

Corpus Christi City Council met April 23, 2024. Council repealed prior acceptance of a $75,000 Partnership for Vaccine Equity (PAVE) grant; approved consent items including a two-year bulk cement supply agreement and purchase/lease of 91 vehicles/equipment; awarded a construction contract for American Bank Center exterior improvements; approved a $2,000,000 Type B incentive for a Homewood Suites by Hilton project; and approved first-reading ordinances authorizing multiple bond and certificate issuances for streets, parks, public safety, solid waste, and utility system improvements. The Council held an executive session on collective bargaining with the Professional Firefighters Association. Staff announced a new Assistant Director for Corpus Christi Water and received a Buc Days overview.
