DEI Commission annual planning retreat establishes 2026 subcommittees and Q1 action plans
At the Commerce City Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission special meeting (annual planning retreat) on November 8, 2025 at Bison Ridge Recreation Center, Chair Iona LongSoldier called the meeting to order at 9:20 AM. Eight commissioners were present (Bianca Gonzalez-De La Rosa, Iona LongSoldier, America Carbajal, Deana Hall, Joanne Stranahan, Ashley Roman, Michelle Curry, Chrissy Chard); two were absent (Marco Vega, Dierdre Gilliam). The commission reviewed 2025 work, created two subcommittees for 2026 (Events, Education & Partnerships; Community Listening & Advocacy), developed subcommittee work plans and Q1 2026 action plans, scheduled first subcommittee meetings for the new year, and agreed to continue alternating monthly between in-person and virtual meetings (January 28, 2026 set as in-person). The meeting adjourned at 1:00 PM.
