Council approves Flock camera expansion and multiple budget actions; rezones property and moves on commission matters

On April 6, 2026, Commerce City Council met in Council Chambers (hybrid via Zoom). Major actions included approval of Ordinance 2755 (agreement with Flock Group, Inc. for license-plate recognition cameras, drones and related equipment) and Ordinance 2756 (amend 2026 budget to recognize $608,900 for the Flock expansion) — both passed on second & final reading (each vote: 7–2). Council approved Z25-0005 rezoning 13701 E. 104th Ave from AG to P (9–0), adopted a resolution to deaccession a mural under the 74th Ave/Quebec underpass (Res 2026-036, 9–0), and approved a range of consent items including multiple budget/grant ordinances. Council adopted a Provider Appreciation Day proclamation for May 8, 2026 (9–0), directed the City Manager to draft a resolution to remove a Parks, Recreation & Golf commissioner (motion 8–1), and directed staff to prepare an issue briefing incorporating Adams County Health Department input before any ordinance drafting (9–0).
