Board met Oct. 23, 2025 (6 present, 1 excused). Crime Prevention Unit reported Trunk-or-Treat participation, a new Buffalo Mesa Neighborhood Watch group, and a cyber security "Tip of the Month." Department updates noted a second reading on funding for a permanent substation scheduled Nov. 3 (groundbreaking if approved anticipated April 2026), the 3rd Annual Costumes with a Cop (~300 costumes distributed), discussion of an Oct. 22 SWAT hit, upcoming cadet graduations, completion of the 2026 patrol bid, K9 updates, and plans to launch a Reserve Program in 2026. Chief updates included CALEA accreditation recognition, feedback from the 2025 IACP conference, and redevelopment of the former EOC into a Real-Time Crime Center (demolition beginning Oct. 27; RTCC technicians to start Nov. 3; projected operational date Dec. 31). The board combined November and December meetings; next meeting set for Dec. 16, 2025 at 4:00 PM.
