Planning and Zoning Commission (Columbia) — March 5, 2026: unanimous approvals on rezoning, PD amendment, and short-term rental CUP
The Planning and Zoning Commission met March 5, 2026 (quorum present). The agenda and prior minutes were approved. The Commission unanimously (8-0) recommended City Council approval for: Case 76-2026 (rezoning 5 acres from PD to M‑C); Case 78-2026 (rezoning 1.81 acres from R‑1 to R‑2); Case 82-2026 (Woodrail Terrace Plat 2 PD Plan amendment and modernized Statement of Intent, subject to technical corrections). The Commission also recommended approval of Case 84-2026, a conditional use permit to allow 202 Old Highway 63 North to operate as a short-term rental with a maximum occupancy of eight guests and up to 365 nights annually. Staff noted upcoming meetings (next tentative meeting March 19, 2026) and scheduled ADU amendments for public hearing at the second meeting in April. Meeting adjourned at 8:04 p.m.
