Oct 6, 2025 Historic Preservation Board adopts survey plan and approves detached garage acceptability; State Historic Fund presents CLG resources
On October 6, 2025 the City of Colorado Springs Historic Preservation Board (meeting held at 30 S. Nevada Ave., Suite 102) conducted routine business with five members present. The Board approved the September 8, 2025 minutes, adopted the Historic Resources Survey and Context Plan with conditions tied to State Historical Fund approval and archival/photo/notification requirements, and approved a Report of Acceptability for a new 550 sq. ft. detached garage at 1909 N. Cascade Avenue with two masonry-related conditions. Lindsey Flewelling of the State Historic Fund/History Colorado presented on CLG requirements, grant and tax credit opportunities, and noted this meeting was part of the CLG evaluation. Staff reported the Satellite Hotel received a unanimous State Historic Preservation Board recommendation to the National Park Service for National Register listing (final confirmation expected in ~45 days) and noted the November meeting will include the annual report work plan, ethics training, and another acceptability item.
