Committee advances pedestrian safety grants

The committee recommended passage of grants totaling up to $2.6325 million for pedestrian and crossing safety improvements at eight Cincinnati locations, including seven locations along Calhoun and McMillan streets and the Reading Road-Summit Road intersection. It also recommended passage of a $102,500 port-security grant, a $250,000 transfer for the Grow Avondale Businesses Initiative, and other budget and payment measures; a separate $4.63 million public-safety spending motion was held.
