Council approves natural gas franchise, authorizes Glen Lennox stream grant request, and permits telecommunications tower

At the November 12, 2025 Town Council meeting the Council approved the Consent Agenda (including a human services funding reallocation, FY2026 Percent for Art plan, and a franchise agreement with PSNC Energy), authorized pursuing a Water Resources Development Grant for Glen Lennox stream restoration, received public input on CDBG housing needs, continued a conditional zoning hearing for 146 Stancell Drive to Nov. 19, approved a Special Use Permit modification for a 195-foot telecommunications tower at 1721 E. Franklin Street, reviewed a concept plan for the UNC Faculty Club, and appointed three members to the Community Design Commission.
