City Council adopts multiple appropriations and resolutions, confirms appointments, and refers FY27 budget items to Ways and Means
At the April 29, 2026 City Council meeting in the Christopher A. Iannella Chamber, the Council confirmed a BERDO Review Board appointment, accepted several appropriation orders (including $32.6M from the Community Preservation Fund and related FY27 reservations), passed park/cemetery and grant appropriations, adopted resolutions including an independent investigation into an in-custody death at the Suffolk County House of Correction, approved numerous recognitions and proclamations, referred FY27 operating and capital budget dockets to the Committee on Ways and Means, and advanced multiple orders and hearings on topics such as tenant protections, parking structure use, planning department performance, AI data center moratoriums, and a university small business technical assistance partnership. Several information requests (including on drink spiking and nonprofit grant funding) and personnel appointments were also passed. The meeting adjourned at 5:04 p.m.
