Committee recommends Security Officers - Compensation ordinance favorably with amendment
On January 14, 2026 the Baltimore City Council Labor & Workforce Committee met (virtual/Du Burns Council Chamber). Four members were present (Jermaine Jones, Danielle McCray, Ryan Dorsey, Phylicia Porter); James Torrence was absent. The committee considered Ordinance 25-0116 (Security Officers – Compensation), which would require certain employers to provide specified minimum compensation to a class of security officers. A motion by Councilmember Phylicia Porter to recommend the ordinance favorably with amendment carried (Yes 4, Absent 1).
