Informational hearing on tobacco retailers; no vote taken
On March 19, 2026 at 4:30 PM the Baltimore City Council Committee on Legislative Investigations held an informational hearing (virtual/Du Burns Council Chamber) on the proliferation and regulation of tobacco retailers. The hearing requested representatives from the Baltimore Health Department, Police Department, Sheriff’s Office, Department of Planning, and Baltimore City Information and Technology, and invited representatives from the Maryland Alcohol, Tobacco, and Cannabis Commission (ATCC) and the Maryland Department of Health’s Center for Tobacco Prevention and Control to discuss existing laws, enforcement, and how the City can better regulate tobacco retailers to protect communities. The Committee did not take a vote on the matter.
