Auburn Urban Tree Board (Mar 3, 2026): private‑property tree regs, Arbor Day planning, and tree giveaway recap

The Urban Tree Board met March 3, 2026 at the Auburn Community & Event Center. Members approved the Feb. 3 minutes and heard Planning staff on private‑property tree and land‑use regulations (including significant‑tree retention and grading permits when removing more than six trees per year). Discussion covered coordination with Planning for tree retention education, the Parks Department's updated Tree Maintenance Policy, Arbor Day 2026 planning (potential evergreen planting at Les Gove Park on April 21, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.), and a recap of a Tree Giveaway program presentation (marketing needs and preference for native/adaptive species). Parks staff will send the Tree Board an invitation for the Arbor Day event.
