City Council approves multiple consent items, adopts FY2026 audit plan and capital appropriations; municipal runoff election resolution passed; aviation observation deck measure fails as amended
The City Council meeting convened at 5:00 PM with nine Councilors present. The Council approved a range of consent items including on-call engineering services, property determinations, appointments, outside counsel agreements, and an Artificial Intelligence policy. The FY2026 audit plan and several budget and appropriation resolutions (including R-25-185, R-25-206) passed. Grants for firefighter/EMT recruitment and Albuquerque Fire Rescue equipment were accepted. The ordinance authorizing issuance of gross receipts tax revenue bonds (O-25-99) was postponed to December 1. A capital amendment to establish an airport observation deck (R-25-200) failed as amended; a Westland Master Plan text amendment (R-25-203) passed as amended. The Council adopted R-25-207 concerning the municipal runoff election for December 9, 2025. Several items (including P-25-8 and R-25-208) were postponed to December 1. The meeting adjourned at 8:24 PM.
