City Council Action Summary — February 2, 2026: committee appointments, ordinance votes, grant acceptance, executive sessions
Nine councilors were present. Council approved revised 2026 committee appointments and multiple consent items including a lease with ProView Networks, a supplemental outside‑counsel agreement with Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, transit ordinance changes, humane animal rules amendments, and acceptance of an NMDOT grant for Parks & Recreation. The Council passed priorities for the 2027 Capital Improvements Plan and a recommendation responding to a sobriety housing voucher pilot. The proposed short‑term rental separation requirement (O-26-5) failed as amended (4-5). The repeal of the “Administration Question and Answer Period” (O-26-7) passed (5-4).
